The Heras fence stabiliser brace adds vital support to temporary fencing, helping panels stay upright in strong winds and busy public areas. Made from pre-galvanised steel for full corrosion resistance, each brace measures 1487mm in length, weighs around 2.5kg and fixes at a 60° angle from the panel to the ground. A welded square base plate with two pre-drilled holes anchors the brace using soil pins or rubber feet (sold separately). Compatible with all standard Heras-style fence panels. One brace per panel is recommended for reliable stability.
Temporary fencing is only as secure as the support behind it. A run of Heras panels might look solid on a calm day, but a single gust or a knock from passing foot traffic can be enough to tip an unbraced panel. The Heras Fence Stabiliser Brace solves that by anchoring each panel back to the ground, transferring wind load and impact safely away from the fence line.
Fitted at a 60° angle between the panel and the floor, the brace works with your existing setup rather than replacing any of it. It’s a low-cost, reusable addition that makes a noticeable difference to site safety and helps you meet HSE guidance on temporary fencing stability.

The general recommendation is one per panel. On very exposed or coastal sites, you may want a brace on every panel for full protection, while sheltered indoor or low-wind runs can sometimes be braced on alternate panels – use your own site risk assessment to decide.
The plate sits low and flat to the ground, but on public-facing or high-footfall sides, it’s worth positioning braces on the inside of the fence line where possible, or using a rubber foot to keep the profile contained.
Pre-galvanised steel is designed for long-term outdoor exposure and needs no painting or treatment. Surface marking from handling is normal and doesn’t affect the corrosion protection or strength.
This backstay brace anchors the panel to the ground using pins or a rubber foot, making it ideal where you can fix it into the surface. A ballast block stabiliser instead holds a weighted block and is better suited to hard surfaces where you can’t, or don’t want to, pin into the ground.
No specialist kit is required, the brace fixes through the standard fence coupler, so a basic spanner to tighten the coupler bolt is all you’ll typically need.
