The Heras Fence Pedestrian Gate measures 1.1m wide × 2m high and weighs around 14kg, giving you a controlled walk-through access point in any temporary fencing run. Made from galvanised steel with a zinc coating for rust and corrosion resistance, it features an anti-climb mesh design, a single castor wheel for smooth opening, and a sliding latch with a locking bolt. Use it standalone or clip it into an existing Heras line. Padlockable for added security. Rubber feet and couplers are sold separately.
A temporary fence line is only as useful as the way people get through it. This Heras pedestrian gate gives you a proper, controlled entry and exit point, so foot traffic isn’t squeezing through gaps or lifting panels aside to get on and off site.
It’s built from galvanised steel and finished with a zinc coating, so it stands up to the weather across long-term installations and outdoor use without rusting through. The anti-climb design mirrors standard Heras panels, curved top edges and tight mesh spacing leave very little for hands or feet to grip, which matters when the whole point of the fence line is keeping people out where they shouldn’t be.
Day to day, it’s built to be easy to live with. A single castor wheel takes the weight as the gate swings, so it opens and closes smoothly even after it’s been bedded into rubber feet. The sliding latch and locking bolt hold it shut, and you can add a padlock when you need a higher level of control over who comes and goes.
The 1.1m frame width is generous enough for wheelchair users, pushchairs, bicycles and small motorbikes to pass through comfortably, which makes it a sensible choice for public-facing sites as well as construction perimeters, festivals, fairs, concerts, car parks and other busy pedestrian areas included.
It drops straight into your existing setup. The gate inserts into standard or hi-visibility rubber feet and connects to your Heras panels using standard fencing clips or anti-tamper security couplers, so it integrates with the system you’re already running rather than forcing a workaround.

Each gate arrives complete with its castor wheel and the sliding latch and locking bolt fitted. To install it, you’ll also need rubber feet and either fencing clips or anti-tamper couplers to join it to your panels, these are sold separately so you can match them to the rest of your line. A padlock, if you want one, is also supplied separately.
The gate post sits on a rubber foot just like a fence panel. Most installations use a foot at the gate to anchor it, and another at the adjoining panel join, so the gate has a stable pivot and doesn’t drag. For exposed or high-traffic sites, adding extra ballast nearby helps keep everything planted.
Yes. Because it connects to the line with standard clips or couplers rather than a fixed hinge, you control which side it pivots from and which way it swings when you set it up, handy for working around the flow of foot traffic or a wall on one side.
The latch is designed to take a standard padlock through the bolt. A weatherproof or brass-bodied padlock with a shackle in the common 6–8mm range is the usual choice for outdoor use, as it’ll cope better with rain and dust over a long hire.
1.1m is the overall frame width. The clear pass-through is slightly narrower once you account for the frame itself, but it still leaves ample room for a wheelchair or pushchair, both well within typical accessibility clearances.
Using anti-tamper security couplers instead of standard clips is the key step, they can’t be undone without the correct tool, which prevents the gate (and adjacent panels) from being unclipped or lifted away by anyone passing.
It’s designed for temporary and semi-permanent perimeters, which is exactly where most sites use it for months at a time. The galvanised, zinc-coated finish is what lets it stay outside through that period without corroding. For a truly permanent boundary, a fixed, welded or hinged gate would be the better long-term fit.
